New covid rules

Post by Geoff »

Thev FY has reported that, (my bold lettering):

Portugal has declared a national state of emergency and banned groups of more than five from meeting in public to combat what Prime Minister António Costa described as a serious increase in coronavirus infections.

Mr Costa said on Wednesday his minority government would also propose emergency legislation to make the use of facemasks compulsory in public and to oblige public administration employees, security forces, schools and universities to use the country’s track and trace app.

“I know people are tired,” Mr Costa said, “but it is only by exercising our individual responsibility that we will beat the virus.”

Portugal’s daily number of new cases had been growing since early August and on Wednesday reached 2,072, the highest daily figure since the start of the pandemic and the first time it has exceeded 2,000. The seven-day average of daily new cases per million inhabitants stood at 122.5 on Tuesday compared with 147.6 for the EU as a whole.

Declaring a state of emergency -- or state of calamity as it is formally known -- empowers the government to take measures such as restricting movements, to combat the pandemic. The new maximum limit of five on gatherings in the street, shops or bars halves the previous limit of 10.

Weddings, baptisms and other family events will be limited to 50 people and student parties banned. Fines for companies breaking the rules are to be doubled from €5,000 to €10,000. The new measures come into force at midnight on Thursday.

Portugal has recorded a total of 2,110 deaths from Covid-19, or 205 per million inhabitants, compared with the EU average of 342 deaths per million inhabitants.

Hi Geoff and Roy.

We certainly have global hysteria regarding COVID-19! The hyper focus on this is to the detriment of everything else. In the U.K. the average age of those dying with/of Covid is 82.4. The Infection fatality rate for those under 70 is 0.05% and most of those will have at least 1 co morbidity. Meanwhile the health service is shut to virtually every other illness, condition or disease most far more serious than Covid 19. The PCR testing process being used is wildly inaccurate and in the current mass testing environment where thousand of people are asymptomatic many will be false/positives. The test picks up benign cold/flu and coronavirus infection the person may have recovered from months ago and reports them as positive! I understand that in the U.K. from the 8/10 that flu and Covid stats will be added together! There is a Global campaign promoting fear based on exaggerated statistics. The job losses are worsening day by day and the suicide rates are going in the same direction. Folks, just read behind the headlines! I would still rather be in Carvoeiro than here with a lunatic in charge!

The big questions are :- How has it become worldwide ? (and we cannot blame Boris for that !)
Who stands to profit from it to the detriment of billions of ordinary people ?

Hi Roy, good question. I would just say, ‘follow the money’! The WHO is deeply affiliated to the pharmaceutical industry and backed by many wealthy people, Bill and Melinda Gates for example. Their objective is to vaccinate the world, health passports etc. The British government have invested heavily in the drugs trials and Vallance has shares in GSK! They have never found a vaccine that prevents infection from the SARS virus family and it is doubtful they will this time. The objective of the several trials going on is to treat symptoms and not prevent the infection. Vaccine trials should take years to test properly and to asses the long term side effects, these trials are aiming to get a vaccine accredited early next year. The Drugs companies in the USA are exempt from any claims arising from illness or death arising from vaccines so that fills me with confidence. What this pandemic has done is give politicians all over the world Incredible power over their communities and we have seen the significant loss of civil freedoms and liberties and they are introducing draconian laws without any debate or vote. The Covid pandemic was very serious in March and April but the fatality rates dropped significantly after that to levels below the 5 year average. The threatened ‘second wave’ is another example of frightening everyone into compliance. We now have a #casedemic where thousands are tested positive, incorrectly. The strict measures are based on this flawed data but it suits the narrative. There will be spikes in mortality rates and hospitals will be busier as they are always are in the winter affecting mainly the older immune compromised section of the Community. The issue will be, trying to discern the ‘normal’ influenza, respiratory infections from Covid. Meanwhile, deaths from cancer, diabetes, suicide, heart disease etc. will rise exponentially and their average age will be far lower than 82!

Appreciate that. The measures are totally disproportionate to the threat. The media love the sensational fear mongering headlines. Now we are heading into winter they will be bombarding everyone with overstretched hospital stories without clarifying exactly who and how many are actually in hospital and whether it is flu, respiratory infections or coronavirus. The statistics will be manipulated accordingly! U.K. towns now look like a dystopian nightmare. The mass compliance without questioning the actual facts is horrifying.

Worse in Wales...you can go to a supermarket for essential goods, but items not deemed essential ( kettles, blankets , household goods etc ) have their aisles blocked off.
And apparently the Gloucester police ( in England) are stopping Welsh cars in the Forest of Dean & advising them to turn back if their trip is " not essential"...otherwise they will report them to the Welsh police.

Can only assume crime in Gloucester is now non existent if the police have so little else to do.

Getting like a police/communist state!
