This walk is around 10 kms approximately 2 1/2 hours. Start time: 10 am. Meeting point: Foz Do Banho restaurant, just before Caldas De Monchique
There are a few steep hills and a steep downhill section on uneven ground so bring poles if you have them. We should have some great views. This is a grade 4 walk (hard). The usual rules apply, walk at your own risk, wear suitable footwear, bring a drink and no charge.

If anyone wants to stay for lunch after the walk we can drive back down to Rasmalho or Ourique for the set menu.

Directions: From Lagoa: drive West along the N125 to the Monchique turn off at Portimao. Drive up theN266 towards Monchique for about 13kms until you see restaurant Foz Do Banho on the left side of the road. Park just below the restaurant (which will be closed). If you want a coffee get one on route.

Linda will be leading this walk and the numbers are limited to 20 walkers so please add your name below if you would like to join me. The contact number of the day is: 0044 7960552618.

Hi Linda,

Unfortunately I’m going to have to give the walk a miss tomorrow. My back’s playing up after toting the grandson around for the last fortnight. Hope to see you next week.

Mike

It was a hard walk today, partly due to the heat, but also due to the hills and a distance of 10.25 kms. One walker had to drop out and another walker tripped and almost fell down a steep slope but was rescued by Russell and Dawn and fortunately escaped injury. The incident did not stop us all having a rip roaring day out, followed by a very enjoyable lunch with copious amounts of vino galore.
