hi Ben as a casual runner, rather than keen, i found many of the side roads up and around the Almansor hotel area quite quiet and suitable for running..and there is a cliff walk/trail from algar seco, out of the town , past the Almansor and along to Centaines beach.....a bit loose underfoot in parts...

with regard to the low cost ones i have used , easyjet so far do not charge , however ryanair will charge around £30 for a return trip..!
the last time i flew ryanair my return ticket cost £18(dublin - prestwick).
so it would have been cheaper to buy my clubs a seat on the plane
