Monte Servo

About 18-24 months ago we tried to buy a plot in Monte Servo but pulled out when our solicitor found out that the purported vendor did not have legal title. Since then I have seen a number of new houses being built, and indeed what was "our plot" is in the process of being built on now, which may be...

Recommendations for beautician

We're visiting Carvoeiro again next week. Can anyone recommend a beautician for a facial in Carvoeiro (or near area). If you have telephone number that would be great.
Kind regards

I fully support the caution expressed by ktee over disclosure of identity. The Law can sometimes seem to be an ass, but given the Legal complexities involved in disclosure issues such as this, ktee's cautious approach is, in my view, appropriate. Thank you to Peter J for the warning - it is good to ...

Walking from Colina Village to Carvoeiro

Stoosh, we stayed at Colina Village last year in May. Although we had a car we often used to take our 1 year old daughter in the pram for lovely walks around the Colina Village area and into Carvoeiro. Mike's estimate of the time (25 mins) is about right. Although sometimes we had to use the road we...

Article in Irish Newspaper of interest re Portuguese Budget

Yesterday, the Sunday Business Post in Ireland had a one page article entitled "Tax-free paradises in Portugal at risk". It reported that last week's Budget in Porgual failed to deliver an anticipated compromise on the property tax regime. The link to the full article can be found at: http://www.sbp...

I agree with a previous respondent that Dirty Nellie's (Irish Bar) is very likely to show it. It is very close to the Post Office. So if downtown Carvoeiro (beach end) then this bar would be more convenient. I saw the Armagh v Kerry final there last September. Also, Alvor has at least 3 Irish bars, ...

Helen

I found Ian Rostron to be helpful in the last week. I have not used him but found his advice on the telephone and e-mail to be useful. Good luck.

Contact for surveyor and building costs

Can anyone please recommend a surveyor who would be able to survey land in Carvoeiro and be able to comment on suitability of the site for a residential villa? Also, does anyone know an average cost to build per square metre / foot for a modest type villa? Any help on these issues will be most appre...
