Re: Long Term Rental available
That's the deal - not particularly concerned if it's right for the market or not. I've had no objections from interested parties so far and am in the process of checking references on two prospective tenants. I know of several horror stories - here in Carvoeiro - where long term lets with no or litt...

Re: villa rental
Are any of these any good for long term rentals?
I have a 4 bedroom unfurnished property available for a long term let. If any of those listed are more holiday lets - is there a good site or reliable agent anybody can recommend for long-term lets?

Re: Income Tax - UK Nationals Working/Living in Portugal & S
I found this by Googling - I don't know if a similar facility exists in Portugal: Special Expat Income Tax Regime in Spain As of 10 June 2005, the Spanish government approved a new tax regime for expatriates working in Spain. This was Royal Decree 687/2005. This tax rate for expats could be advantag...

Re: Garden Shed
Thanks Blue that's worth knowing as we will be in the market for one at the end of June. Are they going to assemble it for you?

Re: Bringing Sky from the UK
md 600 - thank you - but I am still not clear: I have Sky HD and a Multiroom subscription - my monthly payment is £68. Do I simply disconnect all and take it to PT? My mail will be forwarded to me by the Post Office for two years (that's their maximum) - after that I can use another address for corr...

Bringing Sky from the UK
I have read many comments on this forum regarding the reception of Sky in Portugal using UK equipment but never anything (that I can remember) that explains how using the the account and equipment, apart from the dish and have it operating without too much difficulty can be achieved. We are moving t...

Re: Best car hire deals for regular visits.
We used to do all that years ago - 8 to 10 visits a year - cost a fortune in car hire - so bought a car (left-hooker) that we take down in March/April and bring it back in October. Initial outlay was heavy - but on a like-for-like comparison (including the airport taxi fares) it works out a lot less...

Re: Due Diligence - make sure you do yours
Can we try and get some answers to this topic - due diligence and how to avoid being taken in by dishonest practitioners anytime soon? While using the case from last week as an example - what could those people who were conned have done to avoid being sucked in to such an arrangement - especially wh...

Re: Due Diligence - make sure you do yours
I was careful not to mention or make any reference to names etc when originating this topic as I only intended to draw attention to the apparent 'Brit Only' impression to this site. It's not a criticism - it's a fact of life and I know there are other nationalities who follow things on here - long m...

Re: Due Diligence - make sure you do yours
The general consensus among our friends anyway is that it is a Brit forum - they accepted there were other languages catered for - but it was not something that interested them.
No - they knew nothing of the other matter or the personalities - never heard of them.
