Re: The Eagle has Landed?

Well? Did it? July 1969/The moon landing=supposedly! With all the talk of a proposed Mars venture,I still wonder whether man has really ever left this planet. Can we believe all that was/is fed to us from the media? I happen to think that the money spent on space exploration would be better spent h...

Colina De Lapa is a fine place to stay, but the problem there is if you are planning to stay there and walk into Carvoeiro you had better pack a lunch, it's a long walk.

I have never walked from Colina Village to Carvoeiro center. I do know for a fact the road is all well paved. I don't remenber if there are any sidewalks so you will mostly be walking in the road. I'll take a wild guess and say that it is no more than a two mile walk. Just enough to work up a good t...

Ellie, sorry to hear of your misfortune. A few years back the same thing happened to my wife when we were in a busy shop in Granada Spain. She had her wallet taken out of her shoulder bag. The lost was devastating for her, the wallet contained $1,000, two credit cards and her driver's license.....an...

Re: Luz

Thanks for that Mike, that has really made me depressed. It always amuses me when you see the portuguese sitting in the sun with lots of warm layers on, and us Brits, in t-shirts and shorts enjoying the 'hot' weather. Are they wimps or are we too hardy!! :D No Tricky, your just a dermatologist's dr...

Don't despair MattK, those of us who have suffered with dyslexia all our lives tend to be more tolerant of mistakes made by other people.

Just curious Will2: "somewhere in the western Hemisphere" - I was under the impression, that there are only two hemispheres, northern and southern (no offence, the subject just forced it out of me :D .)? Please advise  Yes Gambrinus, you are right in what you say. Another classification of th...

The hardest phrase in the English language to use is: "yes, I was wrong". I checked with Mr. Webster's unabridged dictionary and there it was. Spelt..past tense and participle of spell. But also the word spelt has other meanings, such as: to split....a splinter....and a species of grain called Germa...

Re: Definately

I know there are those who will possibly think this is a trivial post, but I find it a bit irritating to continually see this word spelt wrongly. A word search reveals it used 36 times on this forum. Please make somebody happy and spell it as it is in the dictionary - definitely Dear Guest...far be...
