Town beach
Hi, just looked at the web cam and noticed a large swathe of seaweed across the whole width of the town beach. This happened last year and was cleared by the council. It it’s going to need clearing again as it will badly affect the number of bathers using it.

Re: Christmas 2023
Hi, We were in Carvoeiro for Christmas in 2017. Most of the restaurants and bars were open then. Happy’s closes mid December for about 6 weeks. We had a great Christmas Day meal in Taste restaurant. Hope this helps.

Re: Up to date restaurant reviews
Hi, Just returned from 12 days in Carvoeiro. Our personal faves are, not in any particular order! Happy’s - Great food, great host, Libbe, must book! Jota Lita - lovely authentic family restaurant, very friendly, great value. Agale - Similar feel to Jota Lita, virtually next door. Pani - Superb clas...

Re: Returning to Portugal?
It is indeed a mess! Boris and his cronies are going to destroy the travel industry and anything associated with it. If we don’t accept we have to live with Covid as we do with Flu this will never end and there will no longer be a leisure industry.

Re: Returning to Portugal?
Striderman, I cannot agree more! The past 15 months has seen the decimation of small businesses, the closure of the NHS resulting in 5m people now on the waiting list and the psychological damage inflicted on millions caused by enforced control, loss of liberty etc. The collateral damage caused by l...

Re: Returning to Portugal?
I think it is clear from the global response and draconian measures that are destroying life as we knew it that this is no longer about a virus!

Re: Returning to Portugal?
If we keep mass testing healthy people and the media spreads panic and fear every time we have a new variant (natural mutation) then we will NEVER escape from this hamster wheel. If they are hitting the panic button in the Summer when the government has ‘convinced’ millions of people to get vaccinat...

Re: Utter madness
Roy, yes we have certainly stirred things up! I think as long as people respect each other’s views it is good to have a healthy debate. The problem with having an opposing view to the mainstream is you are labelled a conspiracy theorist. Free speech and civil liberties in general are being eroded ev...

Re: Utter madness
My point is that there is no evidence that lockdowns stem the pandemic when comparing countries that locked down hard enforced the wearing of masks outdoors fared better than those that did not. Pursuing policies that are destroying economies and creating an even greater health crisis that are not w...

Re: Utter madness
Not surprisingly, this subject polarises opinion! My views are not mainstream and to me that is not something to be concerned about. I have already said that I am anti lockdown and masks and truly believe that these mandates have not been effective in stemming the pandemic. The statistics show that ...

Re: Utter madness
Widge, I respect your views on this extraordinary situation and that is as it should be. The problem is that the main stream media and social network outlets are shutting down any views that are contrary to the ‘party line’. You are not allowed to have the view that vaccinations may not be safe, lab...

Re: Utter madness
Roy, I feel your pain! The world has gone absolutely mad and at the heart if it is mass corruption, conflict and deceit. I am not denying Covid 19 has been a serious pandemic but the response of locking down in various guises implementing mask wearing social distancing etc has no evidence substantia...

Re: Faro Airport
The ‘stay at home don’t bring your germs’ here is typical of an attitude shaped by the ‘fear porn’ we have to endure from the mass media, Government especially Hancock and the Sage ‘experts’. We have never been controlled like this before when we were faced with influenza and there have been years w...

Re: New covid rules
Appreciate that. The measures are totally disproportionate to the threat. The media love the sensational fear mongering headlines. Now we are heading into winter they will be bombarding everyone with overstretched hospital stories without clarifying exactly who and how many are actually in hospital ...
