Is this restaurant still open? They used to serve the most amazing steaks and fish soup?

Has anyone got the train from Estombar to Faro? I should imagine the journey is very scenic. I am coming to Carvoeiro in September and would like to see more of Faro than just the airport and also plan a day in Alvor but I will possibly get the bus if there is one for that Any tips would be welcome....

September is a lovely time for me. Mike and I had our honeymoon there in September.

The beaches are less busy and there is that last bit of summer to enjoy..here's to this September!

Judging by the webcam at Salema over the past few days the waves are still piling in.
Wish I could be there albeit at a safe distance!

From the web cam it looks like there are some huge waves coming in.
Hope they don't cause any damage.
Must be good down at Centianes.

Hi Lamby,

We once saw Les Battersby (Coronation Street) in the Grotto bar at the Almansor.
I got Gary Neville's autograph at the airport once he had finished eating his burger! Mike was not impressed!
And we also saw Paul Dickov at the airport.

It's certainly a popular place.

From memory I don't think they advertised it enough or if they did not widely enough.
They did all the hard work and cleared the area of trees, weeds etc but
it was never clear what the area was meant for.

Shame really especially in light of the problems with parking.
