Re: Overcharging in restaurants
I should also say that after asking for house red wine in a MCO restaurant, and receiving one of the best red wines IMO, we were expecting to be stung when the bill came. However, it was only around €10 so a very pleasant surprise!

Re: Overcharging in restaurants
During a 2 week stay, we were overcharged 3 or 4 times, but not by as much as €17. Mistake or deliberate - who knows. We always asked for it to be corrected, and this was never a problem. My hubby always checks thoroughly

Re: Car Hire Advice
We used Algarve driver in July, and found them to be efficient and reasonably priced. They delivered the car to our apartments and collected at the times promised. If you have kids, they provide the first car seat or booster free of charge. We bought the second booster at Intermarche for around €13.

Re: 24 degrees
We returned last Monday after a 2 week stay. The temps on here were showing roughly the same, however it was in the 30's each day with a strong breeze - very nice. Temps at night ranged from high 20's to just 16 last Saturday. Beautiful sun every day though.

Re: Swimming in the sea
The very lovely lifeguards got him a bucket of hot water with bleach in it from one of the neighbouring restaurants. After walking around for a bit, he was back to normal. It was a story to tell his friends!

Re: Swimming in the sea
My son got stung by a spider fish on Carvoeiro beach which caused some distress. Shoes in the water became a necessity after that!

Re: Returning to CVO after 7 years
We have just returned after an 8 year break, and had a FAB time. Found it very expensive though. We ate at some of the most popular restaurants (Ele & Ela, Happy's etc) and managed to book a day or 2 in advance whilst passing in the evening. The kids favourite was Stone Steak at MCO as they did mini...

Which is best? Been to Aqualand before, but never Slide & Splash. Might try both this year! Only 9 sleeps

Re: Nice meal with kids
Thanks all for your prompt replies. I really can't wait for our trip, especially as it's far from summer weather here. What I'm looking forward to most, is eating al fresco in the warm evenings

Nice meal with kids
We're visiting mid-July for 2 weeks (can't wait) with our kids who are 9 + 5. Been to CVO before, but many years ago. Can anyone recommend a couple of nice restaurants in town which will accommodate the kids without their meals being chicken nuggets and pizza? They avoid veg like most children, but ...
