I agree with Aussie. After hearing the same 'jokes' for more than 30 times we changed to the neighbour. Nice, quiet and good food. Since 2 years our most favourite (with a place to park the car).

Stabiliser for salt-water pools

According the manual my salt water pool needs a stabiliser to prevent rapid deterioration of the chlorine by ultraviolet rays. This stabiliser should be put in once a year. Does anybody knows where I can buy this stabiliser ?

Could it be A Galeria ? A small and cozy place. It has a walled 'garden/terrace'. Opposite Via Italia. Is that the one ?

Re: O Raphaiol

I heard last year that the owners of O Rapaiol were opening a new restaurant on the road to Rocha Brava. Does anyone have any info on this? In January the lady of the restaurant told me that they were going to move, when the new restaurant was ready. So what you heard must be true, if the lady was ...

Re: Pool covers this time!!

Hi, we are in need of a new pool cover. We have been told that the type that has two layers of plastic with a layer of sponge inbetween is the best at retaining heat, has anybody got any experience of this type of cover? Thanks in advance, Nix :) We have a good experience with a cover of Aqua Pura,...

Do you have any experience with this product, Laserblazer ? It looks most interesting to me because I was planning to renew my bath in CVO.
But after reading the info I think this is much easier - if it works.

You're wrong, Jaylay. Dutchmen too (like me) do use creditcards like the rest of Europe. Only Dutch restaurant-owners don't like creditcards. Probably for two reasons: a. they have to pay some money to the creditcard companies and b. payments by creditcard are 'on paper', so no chance to let the mon...

The place just after the Windmill House is Restaurant Original. Good food, friendly staff and good value for money. Casa de pasto O Escodidinho is on the north side of Quinta do Paraiso. No BBQ, but always a simple menu. Price always 7,50 for a complete meal, including wine. Thursday night is chicke...

Personally I prefer Vimar. A Rede has good food, but after a few years listening to the 'jokes' of Carlos I have had it. So I am regular at his neighbour. Good food, good prices, friendly staff etc.

I don't think it's the bark lice, Ellie, because there is no silky webbing. The creatures are a. small and black in some of our trees and b. yellow and bigger in our oleander. I heard somebody sprayed the trees with water containing some Dreft or Lux (dishwashing).

Lice !!

How do we get rid of the lice on some of our trees? I prefer to do it on a 'friendly' way, so without using chemicals. Which gardener has the solution ?
