First time at Rocha Brava
First time at Rocha Brava
We are staying at Rocha Brava for the first time, actually its the girls first holiday abroad ever (aged 11 and . We are going in August and will be arriving around 8 pm. Does anyone know whether you can get a welcome pack or will the onsite shop be open? Also is it sensible ringing ahead to book a meal at the restaurant for the first night? Any useful hints about the venue would be much appreciated.
I have no doubt that you will have a lovely time there.
The shop is open at that time - until about 10pm I think.
The main on site restaurant, O'Farol, is excellent but fairly pricey. Opposite the main entrance is Rochamar which has had mixed reviews over the years. Within a 100 yards of the main entrance is Jardim O'Farol which is excellent a very resonably priced.
Given that you are not arriving until 8ish and probably won't be eating until nearer 9 then I would not have thought there was any need to book.
Just off the site there is a parade of shops with an excellent Pizza and Pasta restuarant and a very good snack Bar called Bar Tropical.
Have a great time

You will have a great time. We are out there in 5 weeks time - cannot wait also 24th August for 2+ weeks!!
Tropical Bar is great also for watching 'sport' on tv.
There are plenty of restaurants in the village.
Will you be hiring a car?
There is a courtesy bus from Rocha Brava 3 times day to the village.
Enjoy your holiday.
