Restaurants near Rocha Brava and Clube Atlantico.

Post by dj sull »

We've booked a villa between Rocha Brava and Clube Atlantico. We've never stayed in this part before and don't know the area very well at all. Are there any restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away and would you recommend any of these?

Highly recommend Jardim do Farol, just outside the main entrance to Rocha Brava. Also the Farol restaurant on the Rocha Brava complex, although this is a little more expensive.

Jardim do Farol is very good, don't know about the others. You could always wonder down to the town then get a taxi home if you don't want to drink and drive.

Thanks for the recommendations. On the subject of driving, how long roughly does it take to drive to the centre of Carvoeiro from where our villa is situated and will it be easy to get taxis from this area?

The best restaurant by far is La Bella Vita at Clube Atlantico. a bit more expensive than the norm but well worth it. To drive into Carvoeiro it takes about 5 minutes and it's easy to get a taxi, the taxi rank is at the bottom of 'restaurant hill' outside Columbo's restaurant.

Thanks Helen. I know the taxi rank outside Colombo's but I'm wondering how easy it will be to get a taxi to pick us up from the villa. Is there a rank at Rocha Brava or Clube Atlantico?

No, but you can ring one and they'll come and fetch you. A good taxi driver who speaks perfect English is Vasco on 917882683, I should know he's my husband!! If he's not working on that particular day then it will be his brother Joaquim.

Parking will be even more of a problem when work is started in October and there will then be no parking in the Square or in most of the streets. :( :( :( :(
