Food Shops

Hi
I love to cook and enjoy fresh local produce. Has anyone got any favourite food shops in Carvoeiro, I've looked a lot, but havn't found any yet, or should I be shopping in Lagoa, again where should I go?
There is a lady at the Carvoeiro Tennis club who sells a wide range of fresh bread outside, anyone tried it?

Hi

Lady is there every Sunday from 11. Bread is lovely, onion bread, sun dried tomato etc and she makes fantastic apple cake which you have to order 1 week in advance. Definately worth a visit!

So no tips for where I can buy fresh fish, nice veg?
or do I have to go to Portimao market or Lagos?
The supermarkets are fine but I do like to use small local shops and the veg I see in the Intermarche doesn't look up to much

D'you know Tricks..I've a terrible confession to make..I've never shopped at Carvoeiro market!

But I will make the effort this time round..what are the opening times please?
Tricks..how about Silves..always used travel there regularly to buy the lovely fresh fruit & veg from market there.
and always bought fish at the Lagoa's market (it was literally 'round the corner' from our home)
But don't ask me days & times of these...I've long forgotten!

Hi Tricky

Visited the market at Silves a couple of weeks ago and fruit and veg was excellent, much better quality than in the Intermarche and a lot cheaper. Other than that I can't help much more as I don't know the area that well. Will be back again for 6 weeks in the Summer so if I come across anything else will let you know.
