 Definitely Casa do bife, it is up the hill (restaurant hill as it is known) on the left hand side just past Maximes.

Well run, friendly restaurant with great food and great staff. And no I don't own shares in it.

Awwwww..... come on Ernie, it is all part of the fun of it. We did it in the 70's with fondues, 80's with a raclette, it just adds some atmosphere to the meal.

:D Shame about the bib though! Have you noticed nobody takes them off when they go to the toilet whilst in the restaurant!?!?! How many times are they worn before being washed? Went in Casa do Bife one night and watched a child throw up all over the bib, the waiter put it under the tap and gave it back!!!!!

Seven years ago when I first used to go to Carvoeiro I used to sunbathe until I was roasted! Then we'd go to Casa do Bife a couple of times during the fortnight and they'd put the bib on us almost as soon as we'd ordered........we'd then sit there getting hotter and sweatier for about half an hour while we waited for our food (always busy)....... in the end I'd rip the bib off gasping and almost sliding onto the floor with heat-stoke. It was a good way to make us drink more liquid though!! The steak is always good there. And it has nothing to do with how you cook it anyway, it's the quality or the meat, how it's hung and how its cut! If I can figure out how to add a photo I might hunt out some photos of us with the bibs on.........
