FISHING LISCENCE

Post by tbbr »

I would like to know where to get one, if some one could kindly lead me through the multibanco process i would be very gratefull.

Do not fancy 250 euro fine or having fishing equipment confiscated.

Apparently the plan is for 50% of revenue raised this way to be paid back to fishing boat owners for loss of revenue due to quotas.

Also sports fishermen are limited to a catch of 10kg/day again to protect income of the professionals

I've never heard of getting it through multibanco. My son does scuba diving and I always go to the Capitania do Mar in Portimão. It's along the water front on the right (left is the river!) past the square where the Casa Inglesa is.

I understand you very well, tbbr, because i had the same problem last summer. You need a "Multibanco" card from a Portuguese bank. Visa, Eurocard, Euro 6000, Mastercard, etc... are not valid cards to get the license.
I must say that i was very lucky, because the guy of the fishing shop at the beginning of the Rua do Casino (right hand side as you get to Carvoeiro) was extremly helpful . He came with me to the cash point and got my license with his card in a couple of minutes.

Once you´ve found a portuguese friend with a Multibanco card, follow the steps described in this link (in portuguese, but i think it´s easy to understand)

Good Luck and greetings from Santiago de Compostela.

We tried to use the Multibanco and got timed out before we'd worked out what to put. Thanks for the link - it gives us a chance to translate before we try again but does anyone know what you put in the ID number page?

Ok, i think that the important fact is (or should be) to check if the person who is fishing did pay the fee of the liscence or not. So i suposse that if you put your driver liscence number or passport number it would be enough. So if you show your fishing liscence and your passport or driving liscence to the police, they can check that you are the right person. Police can´t say that you didn´t pay or that your liscense in not ok or things like that. That´s what i think (common sense). But who knows...
Cheers.
