is there life after dusk?

I am planning a villa holiday to Portugal for 9 twentysomethings in August who want to have a little bit of culture but also to go out of an evening and drink lots and make fools of themselves. Is there enough to do in Carvoeiro to keep this sort of crowd happy? I am looking for lots of Bars, shops, restuarants etc.

Recent destinations that have proved a hit have been Las Vegas and Lanzarote, from the website Carvoeiro seems targeted at an older more refined crowd but am I mistaken?

Any advice is most welcome.

Well----there are 'refined' places like 'Roma' Savage --where you can take ' the nice girl you might meet there'--very romantic-------but for bunch of lads --well----places like Roundup --where they seem to have good time & Jailhouse --but dont expect Las Vegas!!
But Im sure someone like 'G'will tell you what you want to know!
Perhaps Albufeira might be more your scene----CVO is small but full of bars --restaurants --and quite a few shops ---buit its very friendly :)Love your heading "Is there life after dusk!"---course there is

I think Carvoeiro has plenty of bars and restaurants to keep everyone happy and do not find it a particularly "older" place, I had a brilliant time in CVO when I was 24 (for example) however I guess I didn't have to get 'older' to be refined.

It certainly isn't Ayia Napa, Falaraki, Kavos, etc and if it is more that sort of thing you looking for then Albufeira would be your best bet. Finding it impossible to compare to Vegas - Vegas is simply Vegas!!! But Lanzarote . . . .

Are you assuming "Savage" is male Ellie? The post sounds more female to me. P'raps it is 9 x 20 something ladies which would be a great boon to the old place even in August

Do young males(in groups] go searching for a little bit of culture of a daytime? I think not.
Do young males go looking for bars SHOPS AND RESTUARANTS?
one out of three would be good enough.
