We were told last night that the work is supposed to be finished in April. So fingers crossed everyone. :D

Geraldine at Smilers has been told it will be finished in 2 weeks !!!. Now I do find that optimistic, but given the effort they are putting in, April certainly looks possible.

I hear that the are trying to pedestrianise Oxford Street, London. Will you make such a fuss? The Bars will still be there, you will still be able to visit the little beach and the basics will not change. So get a life and enjoy
What a stupid thing to say.

This morning they had started to lay the cobbles and the paving. There were 8 men working at it, and progress was looking good. :)

Because the village is quiet Parking is not an issue, there are some spaces on the new in out road but do not park on the street or you could be towed away.

There are a few on the old in out ( now no entry down hill from the market turn ).

The best place to park is Algar seco.

Actually Mike we could from our place, down cardiac hill to join the 'in' road at Dirty Nellies. OK going down but well worth the cost of a taxi back!
Actually can you now drive down from there into the centre?

We walk in either down past nellies ( a good place to get a breather or two on the way back home ) or via Monte carveiro.

Taxis are for wimps, we walk back but always seems longer ??

Maybe more bends in the road.

the reason i asked:
this time we stay at algar seco parque and i have the fear that there might be much traffic (busses and cars parking now)
but i hope the big tourist season will not start at march

We usually walk down from the far end of QdP. 20 mins down, and 25mins back. Think it has something to do with going down hill vs going up hill. :)

We were out Feb 27 - 4th March and I took some photos of the progress over that time, I know someone else has already put some on just thought you might like to see an update on that. :D
