It's the same Portuguese guy who had it before it was Blue Rock, so I expect it will be the same as it was before

Yes, we purchased from him several times last month and we were totally satisfied with the meat and prices, seemed like a nice bloke too!

Always used this butcher's before, I never liked Blue Rock in my opinion a lot of style over substance so I'm very happy to have the original butcher back again. Had some lovely pork fillet this week as well as a couple of very good choock's. His burgers are really good, nothing but good quality ground beef & his Portuguese sausages are great. So he doesn't overdress his cabinet or his produce, the quality of the meat I've bought there has been excellent. I hope he sticks around.

For a roasting pork joint in Portugal I buy the pork loin bone in & ask for the rind to be kept on & scored. It cooks beautifully, with wonderful crackling & is very easy to carve, simply cut & lift whole meat away from bone & then carve in slices. The roasted bones then make good stock.

Sorry, yes chickens. Not very large but really tasty. (No comments please from male members - if you'll excuse the pun  ). :D
