So perhaps it is you who have a problem with anyone who does not agree with you?
Bulldodge, when Rich says "from my point of view", then according to my understanding of the English language, he is simply expressing his opinion.
You are most welcome to disagree with his opinion, and of course make your case. We are all interested.

Apologies if I am wrong, but I assume you are a business owner, and it makes very good business sense to listen to your customers.

Maybe your “understanding” only went as far as the first half of where I quoted Rich!
Read the part after he said “My point of view” If you are going to enter a debate at least read what is written before giving your opinion of what you think what was meant by someone else!

I don’t have a problem with anyone having an opinion and I respect that Rich thinks removing parking from the square is/was a good idea, the selfishness I referred to was when he said “he walks everywhere” ,thus implying that it does not matter to him that there is no parking in the square because he walks everywhere.

And thanks for the apology.

You really are something, aren't you. Selfishness seems to be running through you - the apology from e-richard as polite English.

So, bulldodge, lets get to the point here - I have said in my posts that I walk everywhere, which in anyone's language does not imply that anyone who cannot walk should suffer.

You have come to this forum very recently with insulting posts to people and will not explain your comments. My previous posts have stated that I do not have the answer to an obvious issue around parking and opened the debate for ideas.

You, on the other hand have offered nothing - zippo, zilch - nothing! - just a whine from someone who appears to expect everyone else to bail you out.

So come clean, tell us which business you own and why the redeveloped square is causing you a problem! Then we can have a civilised discussion.

 This seems to be going round more times than a tourist trying to park in the Village!

Wrap it up any way you like Rich but you basically said removing parking doesn't matter to you because you walk everywhere and it does show a selfish attitude.

Why would I expect anyone to bail me out and from what? What makes you think I own a business or even live in Carvoeiro? You didn't answer my question about how many weeks you spend in Carvoeiro? Do you actually own a property in Carvoeiro?

This is a forum for people to air their views I have never said I know a solution to the parking problem, just that there is one so your remarks about me offering zilch and zippo really do make you appear rather silly.

Bulldodge,

I am a holidaymaker and have been coming to Carvoeiro since the early 1990's. Over that period, the Square got tattier and tattier and cars were parking everywhere. My opinion of the square is it's a vast improvement - cleaner, tidier, better for the local restaurants etc. I liked walking aorund the new square instead of walking around parked cars. I like to walk around the village and if I get tired (or drunk!) I get a taxi - my choice. If it gets too difficult (as my mother-in-law found last year after a hip operation), then we get taxis all the time. Does this cause anybody a problem?

So, bulldodge - now you know - what about you - are you a local resident and can give that opinion, or a business owner and therefore a business perspective - or are you something else? ... and why do you object to there being limited parking (for the disabled) in the square? Look forward to your reply,

Rich

The parking along the seafront up by the church and parallel to restaurant hill is all but finished. No complaints please from the majority of able bodied people that this is too far to walk to the village.

A funicular down to the beach would be cool.

Has the train started up again, if so that will bring an end to parking outside of the carvoeiro sol.
