Beaches in peak season

I'm thinking of staying in Carvoeiro next August. I understand that the main beach gets very busy at this time of year. Are there any other beaches within walking distance? All advice greatly received.

Hi Reggie, All beaches in August tend to be quite busy. Centianes beach to the East of Carvoeiro is about a 20-30 minutes walk from the centre of Carvoeiro. Praia do Paraiso to the West of Carvoeiro is only a 10 minute walk from the center but is difficult to access. Praia Grande at Ferragudo is a nice beach and doesn't tend to feel that crowded as it is a fairly large beach, but for that you will need trsansport unless you fancy a 1 1/2 - 2 hour walk that is
