Are there any bars or clubs(in the CVO area) where you can hear Fado?

Alloway..someone mentioned on here..a while back.that there was Fado at Screwy Louies(dont know if this is spelt right)..
Also my friend Sonia (of Lagoa park cafe) told me that it was to be heard at Alvor. Apparently theres all sorts of musical entertainment there..you know ...local stuff..strumming of guitars etc...always something going on..she told me Friday/Saturday nights were best...
Dont know if thats any good to you? :)
I had the name of a place written down..where they have Fado..in Silves..Ill try to find it!
But maybe others here can tell you more...good luck!

The Porches Velho Restaurant in Porches (Tel 282 381 692) has very serious Fado at weekends. They expect silence whilst the performers sing and have a higher priced menu on those nights.

Gerry
The best thing to do is drive through Porches, what you've seen is what there is, apart from the restaurant which is by the church.

Strangely their web site doesn't mention this - it changed owners last year - anybody been this year for Fado?

Restaurant O Calvário near Estombar is advertising Fado on Fridays
(282 432 744) book in advance. I have not been there yet so do not know what it is like....but there may be someone who does.........

Fado

Restaurante Ponte Romano in Silves used to have Fado singers on a Friday night - sometimes quite famous ones I believe. They too expected silence while the singer was performing!!!

Mind you, I remember this from a couple of years or so ago and things may well have changed now.

Boa sorte!
