matar soudades, the only way i know how
i just happened to stumble upon this site as i was doing some algarve research, and wow, what a stroke of luck! lots of useful information packed into a cute little package.
i had a question, and i was hoping a few of you might be able to help me out. my family is originally from portugal, but i was born in canada, so i grew up speaking both portuguese and english [and french!]. i've been living in spain on a university exchange for the last few months, and i feel so at home in europe that i'd much rather stay than return to canada. my semester here is almost up, so i'm scrambling to make plans for the coming months.
what i'd love most is to live in portugal, and [cliché as it sounds] to get in touch with my roots. i speak four languages [spanish being the fourth], so i'm hoping to find work in the tourism industry where i'll be able to make use of my skills.
so here's where you come in: how might i go about finding work [at a resort, at a hotel, wherever] in the algarve? i'm unsure as to whether places do much summertime hiring, or even if they like to hire non-locals. any help would be HUGELY appreciated!
