I recently bought a nice quite modern faux leather 2 seater sofa at the Donkey charity shop in Carvoeiro, on the out road just before the roads merge.
Also worth checking out the cheaper shops for new furniture that have sprung up in the region, eg Conforama

Hi expatlife.......No, the charity shop I mentioned on the " out" road is in Carvoeiro : about 50 meters from the end, almost next door to the motorcycle hire place....sound like the place Sam has benn to! I have seen some quite decent sofas, armchairs and a dining room suite upstairs . Don't know what they have at present though. Most charity shops will take a phone number and details of anything your friend specifically wants, and then ring you if they get it.

There's one in Lagoa, next to the Vet's.

I will have a trip to the other donkey sanctury shop, I was at conforama on thursday night - though I didn't last that long in there because they didn't have the air con on and it was very busy so the customers added to the temperature.
