Air Traffic Controllers Strike
Air Traffic Controllers Strike
Yesterday's Sunday Telegraph reports likely disruption by this, with walkouts between 0700 and 2100 on April 19, 20 and 26....we are due to fly out on 29 April!
Re: Air Traffic Controllers Strike
Hi Geoff,
The Portugal News gave the times as 07.00 to 09.00 not 21.00. I hope that they are right as I'm supposed to be flying on the 20th.

Re: Air Traffic Controllers Strike
Sunday Telegraph definitely says 7am to 9pm , but hope Portugal News is right.
Monarch tends to agree with you but offers different dates :
" Monarch Airlines is aware of potential Portuguese Air Traffic Control strike action between 07:00-09:00 local time on the 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th and 26th April"
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office also agree:
"Unions representing Portuguese air traffic controllers have announced that their members will be participating in strike action on 12, 13, 19, 20 and 26 April for a period of two hours from 07:00-09:00 hours B.S.T. (06:00-08:00 local time). If the planned strike goes ahead, they may affect your travel plans. Be prepared for delays and keep in touch with your airline or tour operator for advice on the options available to you. "
So you look to be safe and the ST has got it wrong!
