long term rental needed - Carvoeiro or elsewhere

Hello,

I'm looking for a long term rental that would be suitable for my gran to use. She's been to carvoeiro before and perfectly happy to live there. But I would also consider anything else similar - either Portugal or Spain. It would need to be something like Carvoiero, everything within walking distance (she can't drive abroad). Outside of one my friends taking her to a big supermarket once a week in his car I need her to be able to get by day to day on foot alone. i.e. no more than 1km walk to shops, restaurants, cafes, etc.

She would prefer an 'old' type town like Carvoeiro than something like the Albufeira marina. Things like tennis courts, swimming pools etc would be nice if they were there for when anyone visits, but not particularly essential as she won't use them herself.

She did like Quartiera when she visited but I've been there myself at night and I wouldn't really be happy with my gran walking around there on her own in the evenings. So safety/security would be a factor in choosing.

I'd be looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment though I will consider a villa at the right price. I'm thinking if we go Carvoeiro an apartment is more likely to tick the boxes of everything being within walking distance though. I am not really interested in something on a specific resort that has a single shop and a single restaurant within walking distance - if we go with Carvoeiro we need to be walking distance to the restaurant street, the beach etc. One small dog would be living there also so pet friendly suggestions please.

Does anyone know of anything suitable? I'm looking to rent it starting in a month or so.

edit - if we go somewhere other than carvoeiro it needs to be a touristy place on the south coast of portugal/spain (mainland only, no islands), somewhere that is lively enough all year round and that you can get by speaking no local language at all. But nowhere thats infested with club18-30 type groups. I'm looking more for Carvoeiro style, Club 60-80

I would also consider an off-season rental only but I'd need at least all of December, January, Feb, March for it to be worth the hassle of having to move in then move on again in a few months.

Got a few options so far, thanks for everyone that sent a message. I'm going to speak to my gran and make a decision early this coming week so if anyone has anything else, please send it today/tomorrow or it will be too late. thanks
