Which Supermarket?
Re: Which Supermarket?
Thanks EMM, sounds a lot shorter than Guia.EMM wrote:There is a brand new Continente in Portimao.
One route is to go to the Alvor turn off the N125 , Approx 400 metres on the Alvor road there is a left turn towards Portimao.
Continente is on this road just pass the big new intermarche.

Pao de Acucar (or Jumbo now) for us.. I can get most things I need there. Gaz hates supermarkets but quite enjoys this one.

Intermarche for us. Visit ALDI but so little choice, maybe wine now and again. Could not even see tonic. Continente is huge in Guia, but as JS says bit if a trek.
Re: Which Supermarket?
One trip to Continente in Portimao (took the route as per EMM). Definitely shorter than Guia. Mostly essentials so no real discounts this time (5.95 including the petrol voucher) but we did get about €20 off our shopping because of the last visit. Despite waving that little bit of pastic around in Intermarche (much handier to visit ) we appear to only have a few euros built up on it. Cannot see the justication for all the new roadworks, roundabouts etc for Aldi, not a patch on Pingo, Intermarche or Continente.

Re: Which Supermarket?
Well I mainy used Intermarche because it was closer and easier to get to - but if I as anywhere near Pingo Doce and needed something I did prefer that one - probably used Intermarche 5 times and Pingo 3. Did get 33cl bottles of Sagres for 49 cents each at Intemarche though - a couple of crates of those managed to last about 2 days! - adult offspring drink a lot more when they don't pay!

tell me about it....... which is why I switched to Guinness here at home, find it lasts much longer than if I put lager or beer in the fridge.HampshireRich wrote: adult offspring drink a lot more when they don't pay!
