No they are closed for the winter, as is the Mirachoro and Carvoeiro Sol. The only one that is open is the Baia Cristal.

Carvoeiro is a ghost town at the moment, with very few bars and restaurants open. The town is sadly becoming a non winter destination, with many of the frequent visitors of the previous years not coming, even the locals are staying home probably due to their own difficult financial situations.

It is a crying shame for those businesses who have stayed open for the winter period, but have very few clients visiting them. It is costing them more to be open than they are actually earning.

Many of the owners are saying that this is the worst winter period that they can remember.

Gosh thats dreadful news.
A sad indicement of times and future times to come.

The hotels being closed, especially the Tivoli for its location, heated indoor pool etc feeds the other pubs and resturants allowing life to continue in CVO in and out of the summer season.
Thus with these being closed tis the death knell to predominately all other businesses relying on grockels for an income, and ultimately an adverse effect on all those living in CVO, indigenous and the retirees etc.

The Tivoli has been closed in the winter for the last 3 years at least, usually opens on about the 1st March. I think a lot of the problem is being caused by all the fully inclusive holidays that are now on offer, several friends have said that they work out a lot cheaper in the long run. We intend to be in Carvoeiro next Christmas whether it is quiet or not I am sure we shall enjoy it and hopefully some sun. Happy Christmas everyone.

Perhaps tivoli and othet hotels should consider this idea for the winter as it keeps the hotel open, bums on seats and people migrating into the town.
