Tragic accident

We were on the beach at Albandeira on Friday when a tragic accident occured in the bay accessed through the arch. A diver was found floating in the water. The emergency services were called and the Bombeiros, paramedics , maritime police etc came to assist. We left the beach after a while as it became apparent that the situation was grave and we were uncomfortable with the 'spectators' and the obviously distressed friends/family (and we were sitting right by the arch which everyone was using to access the other beach) but I see from the Resident that the man had apparently been 'free diving' and sadly died. A sad end to a holiday.

Very sad event. These things happen and it is upsetting to see.
