Vivendo do Barco - anyone been?

Post by Michaela »

Hi,

I have another question: We'll be staying in the above villa and the webpages don't give too much away. Has anyone stayed there before? If so, what was it like? Sadly, our original villa, which was booked about a year ago, got cancelled earlier this week (due to double booking). Booked above property as an alternative but not necessarily an equivalent.

How comfortable is the villa? Is it safe? I know I should wait till I get there really but cannot help wondering.

Thank you in advance for any comments. :)

On the map that was sent to us, it's close to the police station, just up the hill off Estrada do Farol. It's not that far from the centre square either. Well, map is not to scale but it looks like walking distance from there. Sadly, I don't know the name of the street/road the villa is on.

Ring any bells?

Thanks Loretta. Good to hear that the street the villas are on is meant to be quiet. Read in another book that the club "Round Up Saloon" is on Estrada do Farol as well, which I found a bit worrying (call me an old granny but when you're ready to kip, the last thing you want is thumping disco/club music).

We'll see when we get there.

Thanks again and have a cracking time. Will report back when I return.

Hi Michaela,
I just got home and looked in my brochure and im sorry but i got the wrong villa, Vivenda Do Barco isnt the one next to me, I thought i reconised the name it was the villa we originally wanted but it wasnt available on the dates we wanted. The Round Up saloon is on the main road but there are no villas near to it so im sure you will have a peaceful time. I hope you have a wonderful holiday (im sure you will) Please let us know how you got on when you return

Hello Loretta
No need to apologise. If you're head is anything like me, it'll be full of other stuff as well, so don't worry!

Glad to hear that the Round Up Saloon is far enough not to be part of the party if you're not up for it, so to speak. I'll make sure we'll have a fantastic time as any hitches make you all the more determined.

Take care and I'll let you know how we all got on when I get back.

Casa do Barco

Is it a great big villa? I think it might be one towering above the main street that leads to Centianes. You get to it up a road opposite the Lanterna Velha. That makes sense as it sort of overlooks Algar Seco as well - sort of.

I'll take a look
