I thought the Portuguese weren't all that keen on seeing women topless never mind nudies wandering around.
To be honest, most women (or men for that matter) who decide to go nude are usually the ones we don't really want to look at.

The Portuguese may not be overwhelmed by the bare flesh of tourism but I am not averse to the sight of scantily clad, tanned maidens.
Unfortunately they are probably not impressed by my generous proportions.

there is a nudist beach in ferragudo (caneiros beach) we locals welcome all naturists

Guest13, don't desinform people ! Caneiros beach is very wel marked from the road, but the beach itself is fully normal (thanks God!). The beach you meant is right next to Caneiros, but beware: access through ground on low tides only, otherwise one has to be an alpinist.

the beach you're talking about is caneiros, as you mention on your post you can only access on low tide, so where talking about the same beach, caneiros beach became more popular after all the development in the area, and the new road from sesmarias to ferragudo only made it more popular , about 20 years ago the beach was virtually roadless, you either had to use a 4x4 or a motorbike to access the beach, i grew up in the area so i know what i'm talking about, you can even ask any local resident he'll tell you everything about it, the beach has always been divided, one for nudists and another for families, there's nothing wrong with naturists as far i'm concerned everyone is free to express themselves the way they feel most comfortable, if people like you don't like it, stay at home or go to another beach, there's plenty in the algarve.
