I did see somewhere that small balls of cotton wool soaked in bleach, left at the begining, middle and end of their trail gets rid of them. I have used the foam spray, worked for me. Don't forget to clear up any crumbs or spilt drink, they love it! Put ANYTHING sweet (sugar, honey, jam, etc) in the fridge where they can't get to it! Good luck

You can buy ant traps - small circular object that attracts them and zaps them.

Maybe it's retribution from on high.

And soul is spelt correctly. If it was sole then ants' soles are definitely smaller than dogs'

There is a product available in most shops called BioKill (cynical, eh?). It is extremely efficient and not as agressive/dangerous for kids and other pets :P

I usually spray the perimeter of the house or follow the line to the hole they emerge and let 'em have it there. That will normally keep them at bay for a few weeks.

Ants

Finely ground salt sprinkled around the ant entry point can work well, or and this is really silly but sprinkle talcum powder around the point of entry, for some reason ants do not like crossing it. Liz

ANTS

Read somewhere having mint growing in containers around the house helps. No experience tho - just blasting away at ours with the usual stuff from the shops.

Avie I have mint growing near some rose bushes and theres never been any sign of greenfly..and they are disease-free..
so perhaps theres truth in that regarding ants? :)
Hub has always had a very ruthless method of dealing with ants..both here in Lincs and when living Porches....
he tracks where the nest/source is and..wait for it.....pours boiling water into it specially on the ant eggs.. ....
seems terrible to me but it worked/works!

You have to buy ant bait - the ants then take the poison back to the nest which kills the Queen :( - otherwise the ants will just keep on marching.

elle - you've just brought back a distant memory of my Grandad pouring boiling water on Ants Nests!!

Couldn't say if it worked or not but I can picture him doing it!
