Ellie,

We have so very much in common and one other you know of close to me...but her style is much quieter than mine....but nevertheless just as affective.....I like to think a chip of the old block...(well not so much of the old  )

Dr King was one hell of a guy....but then they shut up or try to shut up anyone like him..... who is really good in this world and stands for simply loving their fellow man..........Divided we fall...United we stand amen.

Kind Regards to you both. Nightrider.

Whilst we're all shedding a slightly self-regarding tear, let's spare a moment in remembering her sister, Nashnulcar.

Don't see a sister mentioned in her biography!!!!!!!!!

Duuude, if the "powers that be" had the faintest idea what her arrest would lead to, they would have killed her.

There was a long history of blacks dying at the hands of whites in the Deep South.

For an example, here's the story of Emmet Till....

It is ironic dud!!!

Back to the subject of Rosa Parks. She was indeed a brave woman and yes Cowboy had the "powers that be" realised what her actions would trigger off I have no doubt they would have killed her.

It's quite interesting to find a 20 something who seems to have no idea of exactly what went on in the States, or for that matter the rest of the world, during the fight for Civil Rights

Hi Cowboy or Ellie (or anyone)...

Ref: Andrew Young Guest's posting re: "Nashnulcar".... out of interest have you any information who the above named was! In that I can find no reference to the fact that she was a sister of Mrs Rosa Parks or even any reference to her at all! I have requested this information from Andrew but as you can see to date has not replied :!:

I looked on Google for Rosa Parks Biography and there was no mention of a sister at all! It makes me wonder if she was a sister in the sisterhood sense rather than biological. If its any consolation I couldn't find any reference to Nashnulcar either!!
