yahoo/BBC weather

Post by kennycapes »

Hi there

Coming out in 2 weeks and looking at the weather Yahoo says every day is about 69 degrees and cloudy yet BBC show lots of sunshine. Which one is true.

Anyone just been out? what was it like. End of June start of July, should be farely hot i would have thought.

Can't wait

kennycapes, try this weather forecast. It is a German site, but their forecast seems to be quite accurate. The reception staff at Monte Dourado use it too. Heini

I'm afraid to say BOTH are true.

This morning was dull, cloudy with threats of drizzle, but the afternoon was brilliant sunny with occasional cloudy bits.

I've yet to find any on-line weather forecast that can correctly identify what actually is going on in the Carvoeiro valley. So why not just look forward to your holiday and take whatever comes - its bound to have some good bits.

The BBC 5 day forecast isnt too bad. I get in via Google.
The SKY News forecast is good as well....though it does help that Jo Wheeler, one of the forecasters lives at the back of Praia da Luz!

I find the 5 day forecasts change on day to day basis, and are generally only accurate for 1-2 days at the most. The BBC forecast is the most accurate in my opinion.

It can be misleading when it says partly cloudly or scattered clouds, as in portugal this tends to mean a blue sky, with a few clouds , that we would call a glorious day in UK.

The 10 day forecast on www.weather.co.uk is the worst and tends to be the most pessemistic.
