Hi all,
I am planning to come to the village with 4 friends around the 18th Jan for weekend to celebrate a mates 40th. I have been many times before but never in Jan. We are not worried about lively night spots, just that there are a few bars and restaurants in the village that are open. Could some of you residents and regular winter visitors let me know what to expect.
Thanks
Tony.

A bit of a lottery. The sun still has some warmth, but there is always a chance of rain. Nights tend to be cold so take something warm for the evenings. Many restaurants close, but there normally enough still open so that you can eat out. We love the place in January, February and March. It is certainly a good deal better than UK at that time of year. Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks guys for your help. Weather not hugely important although some of guys will play golf if dry but just wanted to make sure there was a bit of life in the village without getting cabs elsewhere. Been in most months bar Jan and Casa Algarvia and Sully's always seem to be open so fingers crossed!!.

Blue,
I think I may have encountered the darts ladies before and as you say they can be a riotous lot ( think there was a lady called Patsy who got better the more bottles of Cristal she drank! ).
Numbers confirmed now so 6 easyjet flights at 35 quid each including tax will be booked in the morning!!.

Golf is cheaper in January (and December) than the rest of the year. So that will be a bonus!
