Hi,
Spent Tuesday night at the Mona Lisa in Quarteira, and watched the programme with the Welsh /Italians who were featured on the programme. Very nice bunch of people, as are the guys who own the Mona Lisa.
It is very difficult to have a film crew tailing you all day, believe me I have been there.
Good luck to them all

...and wasn't the Mona Lisa also featured on an earlier programme in the series? Where do you hang out in the UK? The Queen Vic in Walford or maybe the Bull in Ambridge?

It all seems very fishy to me - I think the whole thing is a set up. In fact the algarve is just a giant reality TV show. hmmmmm..

BTW Ellie it was a state of nervous exhaustion brought on by creative endeavour/wine and the Frank spencer like going-ons on the TV.

Spent over a year filming SABER AMAR (Portuguese soap) in Lagos area for tvi. The film crew were nice but can get intrusive having them round.

I was along for technicalities, ie crewing/driving boat.

Being nosey again..is your hus. a Portuguese actor then?
Can I just put this here for Tricky..bit of news..don't know if shes seen it.. but her fav. 'Johnny Depp' is over here in UK..filming in (Somerset I think?) with Samantha Morton..film called 'The Libertine'...........Do I hear Tricks darting off for a quick train to West country?

Do tell us more about the filming Trazie? and the 'gorgeous actors ' of course..a full report mind

Ellie,
Hubbie is English, he is not technically an actor but they asked him to do it-unpaid of course!! It took him ages whenever he had to learn any lines, the producer had wicked sense of humour and seemed to find it funny.

Main actors were Rodrigo Menezes who is also a famous Portuguese pop singer, and MarcAntonio Del Carlo who is a famous Brazilian actor.

Funny enough I never minded being stuck out at sea for hours on end when Rodrigo was on board.

it was long days sometimes but we had a lot of fun too.

On one occasion we had to film a drugs bust near Ferragudo so we had the Marina Police, the GNR boat, Customs boast and Portuguese Navy.

All the charter boats from Portimao were trying to see what was happening but the police kept chasing them away. By the time we got back to Lagos, the gossips had been busy and people in the marina thought we had really been caught with drugs.
