Two & Eight -- 28
Re: Two & Eight -- 28
perhaps not so recently formed..... it seems that these folk have been playing a harmless game of Bingo for 7 years!! so one wonders why now in terms of the raid?EMM wrote:No they were prizes, do not believe everything you read in the UK press and from the recently formed " Epats can do no wrong Party of the Algarve.".
THere are probably red faces all round within the Portuguese legal establishment and a happy bar owner who wll now be one of the most popular in that part of Albufeira.
Its an area we have never visited and now have yet another reason to avoid it.
and the first prize awarded was a chocolate bar and a packet of biscuits, the intended prize for a full house was a voucher for a full English breakfast so it doesn't sound like we're dealing with a gambling den of iniquity does it?
I'm flabbergasted that a Judge can hand out a 'give me €150 for my favourite charity or go to jail' verdict on untried intimidated innocent people; I hope some senior bloke from Lisbon takes a wander down to enquire why full force, guns, judges and all are being levelled at harmless tourists.
Re: Two & Eight -- 28
Maybe the police could use the same tactics to catch the criminals that operate in the ADM.

The Mail Online has a 'scoop'!
British ex-pats face court for playing bingo illegally after competing for a tin of biscuits and a bar of chocolate.- REFERENCE.

Less than 2 weeks out of date, thats pretty good for the DM, which often has the atitudes of a 1959 UK.
Last Sunday we were havng our morning coffee just off the square and reading our one newspaper of the week ( Sunday Times ) when a group of very well spoken lads in their early 20,s sat down and ordered breakfast..
One went off to get a paper saying " I am going " local " today and will buy the DM " he actually came back with a ST.
