Real Ale in CVO?

Super Bock do a dark beer which is more like English stout. Crystal isn't the best beer around but off what I have seen the locals seem to like it, I think it is cheaper than Super Bock(?) . The green and Tango flavoured Super Bocks are weaker than the normal pale Super Bock, but are a very a good dust settler.

Even there though Mike, you'll still get the "superior" ex-pats ensuring there's a little England for them to cling to but complaining about the "British louts" ruining their idyllic sunshine existence by drinking sangria and cocktails and making lots of noise. You can't win, so to all of us holidaymakers, eat what you want, drink what you want and be merry - wherever you may be.

Back on topic - it will still be too hot for Real Ale in the Algarve

On a slightly different note, for the more experienced visitors to the Algarve, am I correct that several years ago the draught Super Bock was a lot stronger - 6.7% and they reduced it to 5.6% about 6 yrs ago?
Was this due to alcohol tax levels, or, as in my first experience with it in 1997, when I felt distinctly light headed after coming off the beach and sinking 3 quick pints

Real ale or beer in general Beer is one of the world's oldest prepared beverages, possibly dating back to the early Neolithic or 9500 BC, when cereal was first farmed and is recorded in the written history of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia] Archaeologists speculate that beer was instrumental in the formation of civilizations (well is was in Wales ). Casked Ale dates back to Babylon 420 BC so not confined to just Blackpool

Whilst at home in the UK I always prefer a good ale or bitter but in the Algarve outside of winter it is always lager - they are all ok but my favourite is Sagres.
I can remember my brother ordering a pint of draught McCaffreys in RBs on Rocha Brava and then waiting about 10 minutes while the barman tipped away glass after glass of creamy froth before he changed the order to a pint of Super Bock before he died of thirst
