The weather has been crap.
It keeps raining, it's windy and not that warm although the sun has decided to grace us with its presence for a couple of hours.

I can't remember winter being this long before!

Hi Lesley :)
sorry to hear about your cancelled trip..understand how you feel. Im getting 'withdrawal' symptoms for Algarve..and I have to wait until Sept :(

Its nice & sunny here now and just had a walk up the lanes. But as you say, forecasts not good for rest of week..

Do you know where the Angel bar is..I don't seem to know where half the bars are in CVO :? Shaneo says its a top spot! :)

and what does 'lataz' mean?

 Hi Ellie, lataz I think is urban slang for later, well that is all I have come up with anyway, probably wrong...

No I don't know the Angel bar either, we tend to keep to the ones we really like which is very bad as we really should look at all of them, eventually!

Howays, listen just a thought while yis are on this topic ,is there any bar that the members could kind of adopt as a sort of drop in point in cvo i,ve had a lot of advice and favours done for me by a couple of people on this site and i,d love to be able to stand them a drink,Ye know what i mean ,sort of like a post office box.call in and leave a message which might not be picked up for weeks or even months.Might be a stupid idea but like i said theres a few of yis i,d like to buy a drink for even though we,ll never get to meet.Any thoughts on the matter?

Hiya Gerry!
My 2 immediate places for this would be Colombos & Hemingways? They've both taken messages etc for me..nice folk in both places...oh and same at Rascals too..........Nice idea :)

Thanks Lesley....I was looking in my Port. Dictionary for it!

The Angel bar is underneath the chinese restaurant on the righthand side as you go up restaurant hill. It's opposite Joker bar in the underground shopping mall.

Now that questions 1 and 2 are answered, Gerry opens another can of worms, viz:
is there any bar that the members could kind of adopt as a sort of drop in point in cvo
Apart from the regular Thursday evening Algar Seco meets (I presume they're back on now?), I very much doubt we'll find any consensus on the best bar here. If everyone liked the same bar, the others wouldn't be in business

... think about it :D

Perhaps, I could suggest that anyone in town might meet up on ...

Mondays: Hemingways
Tuesdays: Cheers Bar
Wednesdays: Havana Bar
Thursdays: Algar Seco
Fridays: Rascals Lounge
Saturdays: Colombos
Sundays: Carvoeiro Bar

.... and I'll bet 2 large beers that the next post will point out at least ONE bar that I have omitted.... but there are only 7 days in the week, unless you choose a different bar for lunch and evening, then after 14 bars, we'll still be arguing
