driving to Lisbon

Hi, I'm coming to Carvoeiro at the end of September, and was planning to drive up to Lisbon for a couple of days (most likely 4th and 5th October)
I understand the 6th is a public holiday - how is this likely to affect the journey? was thinking of dropping by Evora on the way back.

Also, I have read that traffic and parking are a real problem - would it be practical to park on the south side of the river and get the ferry across? Where would anyone recommend to park, and which ferry to take?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

Hi Krankelbear, welcome to the forum, there have been a number of postings on this subject over the past year, so it may be worth doing a search on this site. There are certainly a number of people who will be able to help you otherwise (unfortunately I am not really one them but they will respond soon)
