Hi All
I've been lurking for a while now and am really looking forward to my first visit to CVO in 5 weeks time

.....but....I have bit of a problem with flying....it terrifies me so, does anyone know how long the flight is from manchester to faro - looking at the arrivals info from Faro airport it can be anything from 2.20mins to 4 hrs, what is the shortest flight anyone has had and what is the longest?
thanks
Cath

Evening Cath and warm welcome to CVO forum
Can't help with the flight time from Manchester..but have flown from East Midlands a few times and it was roughly 2 and half + ( I recall the last time and the flight back from Faro was exactly 3 hours. Depends on flight path I think
I now fly from Stansted ( 2 and half hour drive from here) and to Faro its about 2 and half, sometimes quicker.
Try not to worry too much( I used to be the same), you'll be fine and I hope you have a super holiday..Im sure you will love it there

Its usually 2-20 to 2-40 from Gatwick, and a bit longer coming back. The clever answer is all about high level jetstreams...but my darling wife, who applies "blonde logic", reckons it's because it's downhill on the outward journey....sounds good to me!

Hi Cath
We are flying in 10 days time from Leeds Bradford with Jet2 and it takes 3 hours. On their website their flights from Manchester to Faro are 2hours 55 minutes so its at least 5 minutes consolation for being on the wrong side of the Pennines.Only joking-I worked for 10 years in Manchester and loved every minute.

Hi Cath,
If you take the take-off time from the landing time you should have the flight time .
Meanwhile you can console yourself with the thought that it will all be worth it . Carvoeiro is a great place and I'm sure you will have a great time.

Hi Cath
I have flown every month since December from Mancester and it takes about 2hrs 30 mins give or take 10 mins. I always say it depends on whether they take the short cut or go the long way round.
I actually flew from Liverpool once and the pilot announced that "The flight down to Faro today wil take aproximately 2 hours 36 and a half minutes" mind you though they all seem to be comedians in Liverpool, don't they?

If you take the take-off time from the landing time you should have the flight time .
Most airlines add about 30 mins to the Faro flight times in their schedules. It makes their punctuality records look better

Unless there's a strong tail or head wind then the actual time in the air doesn't vary. What causes the delay is people turning up late for boarding, missing the slot, arriving at the same time as 10 other flights. Little kids standing right next to the baggage carousel so you can't see your bags or remove them without hitting the little brats. There are big signs asking parents to keep their kids away, why can't they do as they are told. If everyone stood away from the bloody carousel then we would all be able to see our sodding bags in plenty of time and get them off without hitting half a dozen people who are leaning right over the bloody thing trying to see past all the other morons leaning over the bloody thing trying to see past.... and why do people think they can also ignore the NO Smoking signs just because they've had to go without a fag for the last couple of hours?
Note to self: Relax it's all part of the holiday!!!
