Sharing Transport?

Thought I would experiment with sharing transport - is anyone arriving at Faro on the 5.25pm flight from Luton on Sunday 27th April and interested in sharing transport to Carvoeiro?
I will already be in cvo and am trying to avoid going to and fro the airport all the time. My husband is arriving on the above flight so as a long shot we wondered if anyone was travelling from Faro to cvo at the same time who he might cadge a lift with/share transport costs?
A long shot I know - but something I've often thought might be worth trying on this site!
(changed title at e-richard's suggestion!)

Alison, what a great idea. I cannot help in this instance, but may I suggest that you (as initiator of the topic) change the title to something general, like "share a ride", and we can all continue posting with opportunities to share travel.
To kick start:
I'm arriving at Faro on Apr 18th at 11:15 (easyJet from LGW). I will have a car and can offer space for 2 persons plus luggage.

Hi Richard - nice to hear from you! I'm going to pretend to be a technophobe re changing the title (usually laserblazer comes to my aid!) - since you've got the 'e' in front of your name I am very happy for you to change the title and let's see if we get any takers/offers.
People concerned about accepting/offering lifts to complete strangers could provide reference to/from someone that they know/have met on the forum? (And yes, we have met in case you're trying to remember - but it was probably 2 or 3 years ago!)

Hi Alison. Since this thread is "owned" by you, I'm actually not permitted to change it (I would if I could !), so here's some instructions:
If you look at your first message above, in the top right hand corner of your first post, you'll see a button named "Edit".
Click that button, then change the "Subject" and click Submit as usual.
Pretty easy huh ?

Hello. Taxi or airport transfers are also good options.

This is a very good idea, well done Alison, we are out this Friday but will have a full car so can't help anyone I am afraid, next time it is just me or the two of us I will let you know here and see if anyone wants a lift.

This is an excellent idea.
It's almost certainly too short notice now, but we will be on Monarch's afternoon flight out of Manchester tomorrow (Tuesday) arriving Faro about 6.45 pm. and we will have two spare seats in our hire car. If anyone is interested, contact me before 10.00 am tomorrow.
Perhaps this thread should be made "Sticky" so that we can keep it in view.

Glad to see people taking to this idea - lets hope we can keep it going - it may take a while for it to catch on and actually produce a result. So keep posting!
Here's another try - We can offer transport back to Faro on Tuesday 6th May - leaving cvo around 7.30am to catch the 10am flight back to Luton - we will have two cars between us and our friends so between us could take at least 2 or 3 people plus bags.

Just a thought! and i do not mean to put a damper on this good idea How do you stand with rental car insurance for any injuries to people being offered and accepting a lift in case of an accident.
