Hello all,

Do Spanish mobiles work OK in Portugal? I have someone coming to meet me in CVO next week who is driving up from Porto Buenus in Spain, and they have been told that they will need to change SIM cards in order for their mobile to work in Portugal.Clearly if it is does work they will have to dial internationally to reach a land phone in CVO but there seems to be some doubt as to whether they wort at all. Does not sound as if this is correct!! Anyone know the answer? :?

Thank you

Sounds ridiculous if it is true. We can use UK mobiles if they are enabled for international calls so maybe your friend should contact his mobile service provider to get the correct information asap?

That's my understanding too, but she has been told by this is indeed the case. Wondered if had any Spanish people or residents on hand to give a definative answer.

It probably has more to do who the service provider is and whether they have any antennae (or reciprocal agreement with a Portugese service provider) in Portugal.
