while we are debating the demerits of golf, i wonder whether anyone has inside information that could answer one of the great puzzles of the algarve. it must rank alongside the bermuda traingle i think.

under a picture of one those super green golf holes in val de lobo they caption the picture with the words

"the most photographed hole in the world "

what i want to know is how do they know?
do they count every time a camara lens clicks or with digital camaras how is it done.
do they have a spy satellite looking down registering movement of camara to eye

please any other answers...its a real worry i can tell you.... :? :? :?

This is of course the par 3 sixteenth hole on the royal course at Val de Lobo, which is played from one cliff top to another, across open sea.

I think the person who wrote the particular by line also worked on the Carlsberg account.

Don't worry too much about it Martin, with the right medication and in the fullness of time it will all just seem like a bad dream

Martin,

I agree with Rod on the medication part. I think he'd recommend a Guinness Ice Cold :)

But if the medicine doesn't sooth the mind for your Algarvian mystery, there's a few very omniscient and sure people on this forum who can answer curious mystery's like there's no tomorrow.

Hi Tiny Tim
I work for a Ad agency and we produce travel brochures for a very upmarket tour operator, we feature Vale De Lobo and always show a photo of 'the most photographed hole in the world' But I'm blowed if I know why. I feel it is my duty to find out for you and I will - soon :)

the mystery deepens..no one has be able to answer it..is this one of those Carvoiero Inteligence Agency (CIA to those in the "know" )
conspiracy theories.....do you think its true that Elvis has been living with Marilyn Monroe in Qunita do Largo (ssshhhh the secrets safe with me and the Sun newspaper).

i tell you these people in val do lobo are clever ....the way they know everything about cameras being used on a golf course..perhaps MI6 could have their next xmas party there and learn the way the things should be done

Hmmmm.... This sounds like a combined attack of sadism, necrophelia, and bestiality.

In other words you're flogging a dead horse

Does anybody know where Maddi is?
She's been in Florida a long time, have they kept her there as the latest attraction? - or perhaps she's off on the trail of the now even more famous 'hole' :?:

Shouldnt really blow her cover--- grapevine tells me that little sis Mads has flown home---but me thinks you'll need something a bit more vital to smoke her out--she could well be bored with the "hole" business of golf--which now seems to be dominating "3" topics here-----
How about --the mysteries of the Universe --and the big black ones --holes that is :?: No :?: Oh well------

Please do find out, but it wasn't me in an Algarvian quandry. Twas Martin who made the enquiry.
