Burglaries

Please all be aware.

A friend of mine has a villa in Sesmarias.

They were robbed last week.

GNR say that a professional gang is targeting properties by watching when people leave for an evening meal.

One member follows them in a car and follows them to a restaurant.

They then phone other members still outside the property and watch as their "victims" stay in the restaurant.

Their accomplices then carry out the robbery.

Please all be vigilant.

we were staying on monte carvoeiro in a villa in june my husband got out of the shower and found a man in the bedroom he got hold of him and searched him i shouted the other members of our group but he managed to run away we chased him but he got away still waiting for the police to arrive

Moodybo's experience is not uncommon. Clients staying in our villa were sitting on the patio having an evening drink after supper back in June this year and an opportune thief climbed through a bedroom window and stole their wallet/handbag. The wallet and handbag were found the next morning in next door's garden with the credit cards still there - they just took the cash. Fontunately the clients did not allow this to ruin their holiday but we have now had to warn all guests against leaving windows/shutters and the front gate open even when they are in the property.
