well by dear ellie, i thought it would have been obvious..apart from a few women like yourself..recent topics have been on such a high intlectual level that few women could cope with contributing.

now if the topics had been on makeup or fashion knitting

Well "Guest"---what a terrible observation on your part---some of you would have to go a long way to compete with the likes of our Maddis interlect--and the wit of Pammie,Su and look at the jokes our Loretta has posted --not many of you have her stamina------and has for --whats knitting :?:
As for make-up--from what Ive seen--just as many men are going in for it now--so you may be more qualified to speak on the subject --just look at Tony Blair for example :!: Anyway --we dont need it--with our beautiful skin/eyes/hair---etc----
You realise guest--dont you--that youve asked for it now--and hope you get all you deserve :x

Okay, Okay, so I've walked into the trap!
Been a bit busy lately but have enjoyed watching the lively discussions.
Didn't feel I knew that much about golf and boreholes to contribute
and as I'm not yet a resident of CVO, couldn't comment on the infrastructure. However Ellie, you are right to be concerned, I'm worried about Maddie's absence, do you think she's lost her heart to Florida
and has gone off CVO?. I can't say I'm not glad though that Blobbie has not made an appearance lately. As I might've  mentioned recently, we are about the complete on an apartment in CVO and I'm a bit at the cold feet stage, Guys please help me out here, it is the right thing to do isn't it?

Hello people, back again. Just enjoying my time in CVO right now. Bit quiet at the moment, but good time to relax. So what's happening lately. Think it's time for another discussion hahahaha

Tricky, the answer is very simple...

Can you afford it?

Will you go broke if it doesn't work out the way you think it should?

( I hear poor people in the Alrgrve are very happy, so it can't be all that bad if it all goes wrong...you may find true happiness in the long run.)

Tricky buy the apt.You will never regret what you have, only what you have not.The very worst that can happen is that you will sell it at a profit in a few years.

Thanks Gerry, Cowboy

We've wanted to buy a place in CVO for years but have never had the
b***s before, but yes you are right, we shouldn't loose whatever.
We don't expect to make a profit, braking even would be great.
The years pass so quickly that before we know it, we'll have had the apartment 5 years and hopefully be able to sell it and get a villa that we can perhaps retire to in 10 years. The main purpose of buying the apartment, was for the odd holiday and for investment instead of throwing money away in a UK pension scheme. I think we are going through that stage where just when you are about to buy a house, you start to doubt wether you can afford it, but usually after a rocky year or two its much easier. and don't forget - youre welcome anytime

Tricky, give it a crack,my exprience of CVO is that you must go there with the sole aim of enjoying yourself, let your hair down and go with the flow, there is no room for misery, that only comes if you worry about others, good luck to you. I notice that you have invited Ellie to your abode for a glass of wine, how about inviting me :?: , I've been reading Ellies input for ages and would love the opportunity of meeting her, and others of course,to discuss eco matters naturally, by the way I'm still waiting to see her shorts,(or briefs)

I am still around, reading the site every day with interest but just not contributing much for several reasons, one was the long and lonely september watching this forum almost die due to being accused of making it too much like a regulars exclusive club and everyone simply taking to the hills and not posting for fear of being attacked - still feels a little like that to me.

Secondly it is about how much interest or knowledge I may have around any given subject - I am totally ambiguous about Golf for example, I have no views, opinions on the subject what-so-ever, my only contribution to that subject would have been to remark that (as someone has commented) I do not have the intellectual capacity to understand why some people find it so easy to be passionate (not just intelligent debate, but defensive and attacking) about something that is merely a game.

Finally on this topic, if those posters who are waiting to see Ellie's shorts are talking about the ones you wear rather than the ones you read then they simply have to visit the chat room where there are couple of photos of Ellie in her shorts!!!!! Obviously this could raise the "dying to meet you" waiting list through the roof!!

Maddi :D
