I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING BP POINTS FOR 3 YEARS AND GOT 1200 OR SO ..ENOUGH FOR 2 BIG MACS!!!!!SO ITHINK ITS BETTER SENSE TO GIVE THE 10OO POINTS TO PLANT 11 TREES

YOU HAVE TO FILL IN A SMALL FORM AT THE PETROL STATION AND THEN THEY DEDUCT THE POINTS FROM YOUR CARD.

WELL I THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA..I HOPE THOSE WHO LIVE HERE CAN ALSO RESPOND IN THE SAME WAY

That is a brilliant idea - I never figured out what to do with my points as I dont eat plastic food - 2800 points should be good for a few trees (I will leave the math to someone who is more awake)

Wonderful idea--only wish I could contribute----If I were there Id not only buy a few trees --but help to plant them also.

I agree its a great idea, and like Ellie and Maddi, would take part if I were over in CVO. If Martin can find out about a fund, I would gladly contribute.

sorry I dont know of any fund...apart from this idea i am afraid everything will be left to government agencies

a spanish friend told me that in the middle ages you could cross from marbella to madrid but then they were all cut down for warships etc.

Who is this Texas born Cowboy will the wonderful voice--its not our Coop youre speaking of is it? Know youre pretty mean on the old drums Coop --but didnt know you had a "voice" as well?
One of my late fathers favourite singers was a black American called "Paul Robeson" and I remember hearing this wonderful voice on radio as a youngster---what richness and power and he" sang" the poem Ive just quoted "Trees" by Kilmer--if the poem moves you -you should hear it sung by Robeson
Incidentily---I had trees planted in memory of my beloved Mum& Dad also parents-in-law --in a Woodlands Trust wood in the Yorkshire Dales---I feelthats much better than a stone headstone--a living breathing form---Tricky --I hope you get your trees some day In 3 years(the time Ive lived here) Ive personally planted 15 trees and they are looking wonderful--the silver birch i put in last spring as a young sapling is now ovr 12 feet high--glorious!
Martin-Ive e-mailed the Woodland trust here --to see if they have any affiliation with trusts in Portugal --particularly Algarve--jus to see if there is anything that Maddi-Tricky--myself and others can contribute to.
Meanwhile as you say--we can help by buying our petrol on our hols!

Hey Tricky, “ . . . but to have my very own field with a Tree in the middle, then I will know I've finally arrived” This has got me thinking: I’m a country boy and I love trees and - in between holidays - I’ve spent the last 30 odd years living in apartments in big cities. It’s about time I "arrived".

thanks for making the link...i wonder why bp in uk couldnt do a scheme like this for the tropical rain forests....buy land and plant trees for future generations..im sure it would be popular..instead of collecting another set of glasses for the kitchen cupboard with coupons or whatever.

yes it is Digger----and when you arrive get planting--and Tricky you dont need a field --i only have small garden but i buy trees "to fit" it--I sit under a lovely pear tree in summer -itsonly about 10 feet high--if you plant lilacs or buddleias( these are bushes reallybut grow quite high)you have the wonderful perfume as a bonus.
Or a silver birch wont take up much room--and see how it attracts the birds.

Yes--perhaps BP should do this in UK--to save the rain forests.
