New Years Eve

Post by Geoff »

We are going to spend our first New Year's Eve (2008) in Carvoeiro. Anyone know of any organised celebrations or have recommendations on where to be /go? I suspect the Jailhouse will feature in our plans!

I might be wrong but i'm sure when i was out there 2 years ago for new year, the jailhouse had a ticket scheme in place, best to check before hand.... the fireworks off the main beach are not to be missed

New Year's Eve & the Jailhouse

Post by Geoff »

Well, I am shocked & surprised!
I suppose it's a good job we are all different , but we love the Jailhouse & the nostalgic 60s & 70s music , even if accompanied by Bobby's/Dave's awful jokes. It's a unique treasure &, short of having Eric himself in Carvoeiro, this is great value.
Anyway, apart from an apparently feeble firework display on the beach , no other ideas?

Last year we went to Portimeo for NYE and it was excellent, the fireworks beat anything we have seen before and everyone was having a really good time enjoying the live music being played by keyside near the old bridge, the cocktails and food stalls were good too.
We will definately be going back there again this year.

Wish we were able to be there, we too love it at Jailhouse, not for every nite on hols but a must for a few of the nites.
NYE in CVO, would be a fab place to end up, Perhapd next year when we have left the farm, to end up at the Jailhouse would be great fun, rolling around, I mean dancing, and having a few laughs and a drink or two

We too love the jailhouse. what a pub should be, fun and welcoming.
Were in last week and they had a lovely open fire going!
Notice saying that they will have their usual ny party which we have been to in the past. It has never been a ticket affair, and last time we were there they gave away free bubbly at midnight.
definately not to be missed.

We heard a while ago that bobby/dave was trying to sell the jailhouse, is there any truth in this?
