The Square

How are things progressing in the Square? with all the rain it must be making it very difficult to lay the new surface. When we left on the 15th January it was looking very muddy. It is a shame that the cameras are not working well enough for us to see the progress. I am sure it will look
much better when it is completed.

Hiya,
just looked on the webcam with the two pics. the square one looks almost all flat now with a chalk line running alongside the cafes side. Vehicles on the move and people about. The beach side camera shows huge white horse waves in the distance and a flatish area beside the new build wall along the beach. So really lots have been going on.
This website has always been my favourite as its in real time. Occassionally the site going off and sometimes a bit stilted. When i notice the site not working I email the guy in charge. He always sends back a thanks. He likes people letting him know if its not working as its used for crime prevention purposes as he explained to me.
So the square may be ready for summer????

Have not been down to the square today, since it has been raining most of the day. Yesterday they were levelling off the site, and counted 10 people working, so it looks as if they are trying to complete asap. The bottom section of the "in street", between the square and the post office, has had all of the tarmac removed, so traffic movements are bit chaotic. Saw one tourist trying to get up the "in street" in the wrong direction. One problem is that they are pouring concrete for the new restaurant, and having to allow trucks access to the square. Not sure how easy it is going to be for the two projects to run together.

The Square works.

Does anyone know how long the development will take to complete? Has there been any official estimate of when the works will be finished.

I wondered if that was going to be a permanent stage?
