Sadlly there is very little English speaking radio, certainly no talk sations taht we are aware of.

There is Kiss FM , mixture of pop aand some Portuguese music with some of the worst radio that you will hear.

If you can bring lap tops and listen on internet to you normal favourites.

If there is Sky where you are staying you can of course get the UK radio stations through this but I must say that I do miss talk programmes on the car radio.

Just a little explanation first....
Couple years ago (2006)..I did a book signing at the Scruffts dog show/Fatacil. Someone/celebrity didn't show up, so Martin, who helps organise this event asked me to hand out some prizes...
There was a fella there called Ian Reddin and he was broadcasting English radio there..he introduced me and then gave me his card..
I have it here, 'Racal FM' and underneath hes written 91.8/92.4/93.7
Don't know if its still operating or is of any use to you?
Good luck anyway and have a nice holiday.

(I love radio.. our car is tuned in permanently to Classic FM..our kitchen radio is always on radio4...and I sometimes listen to radio 5 live on my bedroom radio / or walkman. I love chat/phone in programmes)

I too love radio - it's the variety and unpredictability but being the philistine that I am, it has to be music. I always thought as I got older (or grew up?) this would change but it hasn't.Will try looking for Racal FM next time I'm in the Algarve.

Just Googled Racal FM, since had not heard of it before. Seems it's based in Silves, and on 92.4 FM. Will try it out when we are over.

there's a site called Algarve Directory which carries almost all Algarvian FM stations in a player or as a toolbar player.
