Hi

Why don't you try Tavel Supermarket, it's a comparison site and you get to choose from several companies. We've always found them very good.

Good luck.

We used Locauto www.locauto.pt/about.htm - excellent service and very competitive, situated at the top of restaurant hill.

My son has just gone home after a week here and couldn't get a small car for anything less than €240 for 7 days. He tried all the usual suspects - without success.

Rental companies are getting maximum utilisation from their assets while increasing prices - because they know the fleets of hire cars are 30% of what they used to be in times of 'plenty'. Don't expect any 'cheap' deals - there aren't any.

If you haven't booked for August - you will struggle to get anything sensibly priced now - sorry :)

This has been warned about for months and the CVO home page has carried this most of this year.

1 alternative some are using is to fly via Lisbon and pick up your car there. Car Hire is certainly cheaper. I case we know of 40% less than a local Algarve company and a better, newer car.

www.autoseason.com

I've always used this company, cars are available, always had good cars.

Last year my hire car was broken into, the side window was smashed. Within 2 hours a replacement car was delivered, no hassle, no charges.
